More Gestures on Niagara Button
Currently, the Niagara button supports only two gestures: tap and swipe up. Would it be possible to add more gestures like swipe right, left, or down? That would make the interaction much more convenient.
Show upcoming alarm in Niagara's date/time widget
Show an alarm symbol and/or the time of the next alarm next to the built-in time/date widget, similar to how it's often done on the lock screen.

Pending Tasks/Reminders in Niagara Widget
Would be great to be able to check pending tasks/reminders similar to the upcoming events. Doesn’t necessarily have to be Google Tasks, I would be willing to switch to any reliable third-party task scheduler or better yet, a native one hopefully?
Integrated Dictionary in search!!
The way calculator is integrated. Which is beautiful and I like it. Would love to have the same function for dictionary. I enter a word and bam quick meaning!! Would greatly help learn words on the side while reading a book.
Blur wallpaper in app list
The app list is nice. It has got “dimming wallpaper” option where wallpaper gets a tint of the theme. But it would be nice if there would be a wallpaper blur option instead of color tint. Wallpaper blur option would make the clear visibility of app list. Color tint doesn't look that appealing and spoils the wallpaper look.
Custom app name / text color
We think customizing the text color isn't very impactful, but we see our users' requests and are discussing whether to implement it. However, it's far down our list of priorities, so if we add this it will be in the far future.
More items in the widget stack
Currently, it is possible to stack up to four widgets. We understand the desire to remove or increase this limit. However, it is important to note that widgets can consume significant phone resources, potentially leading to performance and stability issues. Currently, we do not plan to offer the option to remove this limit. Nevertheless, we may consider increasing the limit in future updates.

OpenWeather data isn't great. There's talk here about switching, but no one has done anything, and that thread is now more than 2 years old… This is supposed to be a premium feature.
Multiple favorite lists for different purposes
I have an idea I didn't know how useful it would be it's similar to work mode but would be for people that don't have a whole different set of accounts and such for work. An option for alternate favorites lists. Example at work I use messages, phone and my dispatch applications (tow truck operator), the application to log my mileage and unlock my fuel card, maps and that's it. so to be able to have one that has just what I use for work and another for the apps I frequently use when off work and a simple way to switch between favorites lists because I don't need a whole separate environment for work and home and I assume a lot of others done as well.

Auto-hide apps in folder from all-apps list
Add an option to folders to hide contained apps from the all-apps list. This would de-clutter the all-apps list and allow users to organize apps via folders better since the folder would become the primary way to access the contained apps. We think per-folder makes the most sense instead of a general setting, since it allows for more customization without adding much complexity.
In contact search, add buttons for phone and SMS
Similar to how Pixel Launcher’s contact search works, by offering the phone and SMS buttons next to the contact name upon searching it. Sesame integration almost does this, but it creates new rows for each action. And since Sesame is being sunset, it may be a good idea to incorporate some of its most useful features into Niagara natively.
Show notification badge / dot instead of preview text
Niagara Launcher's way of showing notification badges is to display preview text on the entry showing the first couple of lines of the pending notification. To keep the user interface more minimal, it would be good to have an option to show a little badge or dot instead.
Support Android 17 App Bubbles
Android 17 is introducing app bubbles as a new way to multitask. On the system launcher, you have to long press the app icon to select the option to start the app as a bubble.
Theme color changes to 'automatic' when changing background image
When manually selecting a theme color in the settings and then changing the wallpaper, the theme color is changed back to ‘automatic’. Unfortunately this also happens with changing the wallpaper via a routine/mode, i.e. I have a mode called ‘sleep’ that activates every night at a certain time and this mode changes the wallpaper to a darker wallpaper. So it also triggers the bug leaving the Niagara button in an undesired color. Steps to reproduce: Go the Niagara settings Go to theme / theme color Select a manual color from the background or standard section Notice that the Niagara button shows this color Change the wallpaper Notice that the color of the Niagara button did change In Niagara settings / theme / theme color the option switched to ‘automatic’ I would prefer that Niagara keeps the manually selected color although it might not fit the new wallpaper that I have over the night

Rework clock style selection: Let user configure clock instead of selecting predefined styles
I reckon a massive list of clocks which are essentially just different fonts is confusing and ugly. And the fact things are chosen about those clocks is quite limiting, for instance the fact the analogue clock has to be off to the left. My idea would be to instead have two options: Digital, and Analogue. Then under each of those you could pick settings like left or centred. For Digital you could select a font including maybe adding a custom font or a toggle to add some theme colours. For analogue you could select transparent and weather to show the date. All of this together could make a system that is much more intuitive as it has less options on screen at once, and much more customisable as you are not limited too presets. Sorry if this is a bit of a spew.

Hi! When adding a app to the Niagara button. It shows the apps default icon-image instead of the custom I have created for the app.
Search keyboard not opening
After closing an app, and then going to open search (has to be soon after), the search window opens but the keyboard does not.
App getting removed from Pop-up folder upon update
I’ve only experienced this with the Discover credit card app, but basically, I have it in a pop-up folder in my favorites, and every time the app updates, it gets removed from the pop-up folder, and I have to re-add it. Steps to reproduce: install the discover app create a pop-up folder, and add it to favorites put the discover app in the pop-up folder update the app Expected outcome: the app remains in the pop-up folder Actual outcome: the app gets removed from the pop-up folder

Add more web search engines / providers
This post is for web search engines added by default. For user-created custom search engines, see Custom Search Engines. Currently when using web suggestions in Niagara Launcher's search, you can choose between DuckDuckGo and Google as the search engine. We are considering adding more search engines/providers and want to collect feedback from the community. Which search engines would you like to see? Work folder / Work section
Add a work section or folder that contains all apps from a work profile. These apps should only be shown if the work profile is enabled. We are currently experimenting with a separate section for work apps in the all-apps list. Users have responded to our question about how many work apps they have and regularly use. often used apps list too empty
Often used apps list only shows one or two apps after more than a year of use. I have not hidden any app that would otherwise show up in the list. I've had the list shorten I the past, to maybe 5 apps, when I used a wide variety of apps frequently. Recently I used an even wider selection of apps, and I think this causes the list to be extremely short since a few days. Obviously, this is not the behaviour I had hoped to experience. Navigation takes a lot of time this way. I have relaunvhed Niagara but the problem persists.
Pixel Weather App - Forecase Widget - Crash when trying to configure
Adding the Pixel Weather App's forecast widget > Long-pressing > Configure Widget, will cause the launcher to crash. The error: Error message: WidgetCreationException(w/o msg); Cause: ActivityNotFoundException(No Activity found to handle null) Error occurred with Niagara Launcher v1.14.5 on a Google device which runs Android 16 on 2025-09-08T09:15:52Z. My crash user id is '2ff61d3c-42ce-43a8-b288-52318639a1f6'.On other launchers (Smart Launcher) the widget shows no reconfigure option to begin with, thus not crashing.
Cannot select clock style
I cannot select some clock styles included in v1.15.0. The clock styles I cannot select are the second and last one.
Artistic Update: Theme does not load
After the v1.15.0 update, one of the themes does not load and displays an error dialog when I try to apply it.
List of Material You Icon Packs
This ticket acts as a list of icon packs that change appearance depending on the active Material You color theme and/or the system's light/dark mode setting. More clock styles
By default there are 6 different styles to choose from currently. And, if you want more you can always go the KLWGT route and customize it to your heart’s content which I have done before. But I’d prefer to have more native styles like text only, stacked (hour on top, minutes on bottom like on pixel). I also would like the ability to adjust the font style, weight etc of the clock.
Option to restore original setup after applying Theme
When selecting a Niagara Launcher theme, my current configuration is overwritten. I would like the have the ability of switching back if I do not like the theme without having to re-configure everything by hand, as this is pretty frustrating.
Custom icon selector immediately closes when scrolling

Clock swaps to small variant even when clock is not moved up
A related issue also appears even when the clock is not moved up all the way: When the clock is freshly applied, the size is correct and the bigger version is displayed. However, when going back home after a while the clock is suddenly small, even though it has enough space. Restarting the launcher temporarily fixes the issue (Niagara settings > Advanced > Restart launcher).
Cannot Open Unity Games
I have this one game : duel links. For some reason I cannot open this app using niagara launcher, when I using default system launcher it can open normally. It doesn't not happen with other app but this is quite hassle because I can't open it when using niagara launcher. For your information, this game is downloaded legally in play store it shouldn't have this problem at the first place.
Selectable calendar app
I don't want to use google apps like chrome, gmail or calendar anymore (data security). That's why I decided in favour of the Proton solutions. It would be very helpful if you could select the calendar app when activating the calendar display. Since I have deactivated the google calendar, only the empty window is displayed.
Music Apps feature broke in recent update
When connecting a Bluetooth headset, the selected music apps does not automatically appear on the home screen. The music apps appear only after switching the device off and on (not restart). This behavior appeared after the last major update.
Add App Drawer to Niagara Button
Improve the Niagara button by adding customizable actions: Long press opens an upward app drawer with user-selected shortcuts (e.g., Wallet, Settings, Camera, AI tools like ChatGPT). Support for double-tap, swipe up/down, and more gesture-based triggers. This turns the button into a multifunctional hub for quick access to key apps and features. Built-in clock styles suddenly changed their font sizes
My clock on the homescreen is waaay smaller since the last update and I can't change the size. It does look weird now.
Time zone change not reflected in Niagara widget
Travelled recently. Upon arrival in my new time zone my devices correctly notice the new location and adjust the time accordingly. Niagara widget continues to show time in my original time zone until launcher is restarted.
