Notification Summary replays sounds when confirmed — S25 FE, Android 16, Niagara 1.16.30
Confirming/checking off the Notification Summary triggers notification sounds again on my current device. This defeats the purpose of collecting notifications quietly.
Device/software: Samsung Galaxy S25 FE; Android 16; One UI 8.5; Niagara Launcher 1.16.30.
Steps to reproduce:
Enable Notification Summary and let notifications accumulate.
Open the Notification Summary.
Confirm/check off the summary using its confirmation/close control.
Notifications are audibly signalled again when the summary is confirmed.
After changing the notification sound, repeat this: two different sounds can be heard, overlapping or sounding cut off/choppy. Samsung's edge-lighting/light effect was also triggered.
Expected behavior: Confirming a summary should be silent and should not trigger another notification sound or edge-lighting effect for notifications already being reviewed.
Related older report: https://feedback.niagaralauncher.com/p/dismissing-notification-preview-triggers-notification-sound That report is about a year old and is still marked "In Review". This new report documents that the problem remains reproducible on current hardware/software and adds the overlapping/choppy sounds and Samsung lighting effect. I cannot confirm whether all symptoms share the same underlying cause.
Why this needs faster prioritization: Notification Summary is a main reason for me to buy and use Niagara: peace and fewer interruptions. Re-alerting me when I acknowledge the summary undermines its core benefit. A bug may look small in isolation, but when it interrupts a routine used repeatedly throughout the day, it becomes genuinely frustrating. Repeated regressions like this can drive users away from an otherwise good launcher.
Please prioritize this more quickly and provide a concrete update on whether it is being investigated and when a fix can be expected. Leaving a core-function issue "In Review" for this long does not give users confidence that it is being addressed. Thank you.

The sounds follow each other so quickly and/or overlap that they are partly cut off. Because of this, I cannot tell which app they come from or whether all apps are affected. Could you suggest a diagnostic method that logs which app triggers the repeated sound? Listening alone is not enough to identify it reliably.

Thanks for the thorough write-up, the reproduction steps and the device details are exactly what we need. You also found the right older thread: Dismissing Notification Preview triggers notification sound is still In Review, and having the reports point at one place is what gets them looked at together.
One detail would genuinely move this along: do the sounds play for every app in your summary, or only for specific ones? That was the open question the last time this reached our support inbox and it never got answered, so it's still the missing piece. If you can narrow it down, add it here in the thread.
On timing, we can't give you a fix date, and we'd rather say that plainly than guess at one. Reports collect votes here and the board gets worked through roughly by upvotes, so both threads staying visible helps. One thing you can rule out in the meantime: the newest release (1.16.31, September 30) contains no fix for this, so updating from 1.16.30 won't change what you're seeing.
