Missing Volume UI Overlay on Home Screen (Android 17, Pixel 9 Pro)
After upgrading to Android 17 on a Pixel 9 Pro, pressing the physical volume buttons does not always trigger the system volume overlay while on the Niagara Launcher home screen. Sometimes they show up, sometimes do not. The volume UI and mute/ring options are completely missing. This issue is isolated to the launcher environment; the volume panel displays correctly when using other applications, such as YouTube Music.

Thanks for the precise report, and for naming the Android 17 upgrade. The volume panel is drawn by Android itself rather than by the launcher, so Niagara has no way to show it, hide it, or hold it back. That doesn't make your observation wrong, it only means the cause sits on the system side of the line.
Your form says other launchers aren't tested yet, and that's the one thing that would pin this down: could you set another third-party launcher (Nova or Microsoft Launcher, for example) as your default for a while and watch whether the volume overlay goes missing there too? Android sometimes behaves differently as soon as any non-stock launcher is the home app, so that comparison tells us whether this is Android 17 with third-party launchers in general or something specific to Niagara.
Please post the result here in the thread either way, since "it happens on Nova too" and "only Niagara" send us to completely different places.
