Feature Request: Full Gesture Navigation
I really love the app! It's so clean, beautiful, and minimal. It's honestly a perfect fit for me because I really love dark colors and minimalist designs.
I would like to request full gesture navigation for the launcher.
Currently, the launcher uses the older gesture style with the three navigation areas at the bottom. I would really love to see it support the modern Android full-screen gesture navigation, where:
Swipe up from the bottom → Home
Swipe up and hold → Recent Apps
Swipe from the left or right edge → Back
Swipe left or right at the bottom → Switch between apps
Having this would make the launcher feel much more modern, smooth, and immersive, while still keeping the clean and minimalist design that I really love.
I would really appreciate it if full gesture navigation could be implemented as a feature in a future update.
Thank you for creating such a beautiful launcher! ❤️

Thanks for the kind words! One clarification might solve this right away: which navigation mode your phone uses is an Android system setting, not something a launcher brings along. Niagara works with the full-screen gestures you describe, so switching your phone to gesture navigation in the system settings (usually System > Navigation mode) gives you swipe up for home, swipe up and hold for recents, and the edge swipe for back, with Niagara as your launcher.
The catch is that not every manufacturer allows gesture navigation with third-party launchers. Xiaomi, for example, tied it to their own launcher, and Android then shows a misleading message that blames the launcher instead. The background is in Gesture Navigation Issues.
If your phone is one of those, the request for Niagara to emulate the gestures itself is tracked here: Gesture Navigation Emulation. Upvoting it is the best way to push it, since we work through requests roughly by upvotes.
