Direct Dial Shortcut

I have several Direct Dial shortcuts added to the Phone app on my home screen. The last few weeks when tapping on a Direct Dial contact, instead of immediately going to the phone app and making the call, I see a quick flash of the system “Android Bot" icon before the phone app populates.
